Former Richmond Brave LHP Danny Hultzen was taken with the second pick in the 2011 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners. Hultzen, Virginia’s Ace and two time ACC Pitcher of the Year, is among the NCAA leaders in both ERA and strikeouts. This is the highest any former Braves player has ever been selected in the Draft.

The Braves took the top spot in a rigorous tournament format that included the best 12U teams in the state. The team demonstrated tremendous depth and skill from the pitching staff and the ability to manufacture runs against their opponents Ace throughout the weekend. This USSSA Double-Points Event was a fantastic warm-up for the State Championship tournament coming in mid-june.
